Interlibrary Loan (ILL) assists Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community and Technical students, faculty, and staff by obtaining books and journal articles not available at our own libraries. This is a free service. The library absorbs the cost of getting these materials. Delivery for electronically processed journal aritcles takes only a day or two. Items shipped by mail can take three to five days.

If you've never used ILL before, you will need to create an account. You can create an account and/or log in on the main ILL page. More information about the system is also available there.

Before you request an item via ILL, please make sure it is not already available in our collection.

For articles: From the Library homepage, click the Journals tab underneath the large photograph. On this tab, you'll see a box where you can submit the journal, magazine or newspaper title.

When you submit this title, the next page will list the Library's holdings - titles and years covered. Check out the titles (sometimes, similar titles are also shown) and dates. If available, click on the links to view the online journal, magazine or newspaper.

For books: You can search the catalog at marlo.fairmontstate.edu. If another library in MARLO has the book that you would like, you can use MARLO to request it, rather than ILL. The exception is books at K-12 libraries, which are not loaned to our library.
